Are you kidding me? Her expression here perfectly captures my current feelings. Public reminder: It is NOT your basic human right to view women’s bodies. Their consent needs to be given. Even in a public forum. That is all.

Via Global Grind: “17-year-old Trayvon Martin was shot and killed by a Neighborhood Watch captain inside his own gated Orlando, Florida community where he was living with his father, stepmother and little brother, according to the family’s lawyer. Martin was shot after returning home from a local convenience store, where he bought snacks including Skittles candy requested by his 13-year-old brother, Chad.

According to the family’s lawyer Ben Crump, the family is calling for the Watch captain’s arrest, saying Martin was “on his way home and a Neighborhood Watch loose cannon shot and killed him”…”.* Was the teen singled out and shot because he was black in a white neighborhood? I know Tumblr doesn’t like hearing about this but when people talk about “white privilege,” part of what is meant is stuff like the ability to exist beyond the confines of your home without the fear of being killed due to your race or ethnicity.

Trayvon Martin was only 17 years old when he was gunned down by the Neighborhood Watch captain George Zimmerman. All Trayvon did was go to the store to get his brother some Skittles. Zimmerman saw an unfamiliar young black teen in his gated community and took it on himself to confront him and ultimately kill him. Zimmerman was not arrested and remains free. Not only is the State’s Attorney Norman Wolfinger not prosecuting, he is withholding evidence the family of Trayvon is demanding. Let him know that child killers need to be prosecuted. If he will not do his job he should resign or be fired!

Obama adviser David Axelrod • Not accepting Rush Limbaugh’s apology to Sandra Fluke and pointing out that the apology continued to sell what Axelrod described as a falsehood.
